Cora Voce’s mission is to “inspire, enrich, and educate”−especially the next generation. Thatís why Cora Voce has committed itself to providing funding for school music programs around the Greater Puget Sound region.

For 2018−2019, over $10,000 in grants and scholarships have been awarded by Cora Voce to local school choir programs in Puyallup and Tacoma: Maplewood Elementary School, Spanaway Lake High School, and Clover Park High School. Two students at each high school will be selected to join Cora Voce as interns for one concert series during the 2018-2019 season. Each intern will receive a $500 college scholarship.

2020 Teatro Cora Voce - Dinner, Show & Auctions

About this event

Cora Voce’s board of directors recognized that local school music programs often operate with very limited funds. Our grant program was designed to help fill this gap, and Cora Voce is the only community choir in the Puget Sound region to place so much emphasis on supporting school music programs.

For 2019-2020, over $10,000 in grants and scholarships have been awarded by Cora Voce to local school choir programs in Puyallup and Tacoma: Maplewood Elementary School, Spanaway Lake High School, and Clover Park High School. Two students at each high school will be selected to join Cora Voce as interns for one concert series during the 2019-2020 season. Each intern will receive a $500 college scholarship.

Last year, Aylen Junior High in Puyallup and Discovery Elementary in Gig Harbor each received $5,000 grants for their choir programs. The previous year, two South Kitsap schools, Sunnyslope Elementary and East Port Orchard Elementary, each received $4,500. And, the year before that, Vaughn Elementary in Gig Harbor received $7,000. Including scholarship awards, over the past decade the choir has given away more than $60,000 to benefit local music students.

This year we will again awarding grants to schools in our area.

Operating a non-profit choir, like Cora Voce, involves a good deal more than simply choosing music and dates for three concert series anually.  There is a cadre of dedicated professionals and volunteers working behind the scenes.  And of course, none of this is possible without the generous support of our donors and sponsors.  Thank you!

This year you can partner with us in reaching these ambitious goals in several ways:
